A high-level meeting to coordinate the next steps in the European response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa is taking place today in Brussels, hosted by the European Commission.
Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva will address the closing session (13h00-13h30). It will be streamed live by Europe By Satellite.
Development Commissioner, Andris Piebalgs, and Health Commissioner, Tonio Borg are also attending the event. The list of participants includes ministers from several EU Member States, the UN Senior Coordinator for the response to Ebola Virus Disease and representatives from the World Health Organisation and Doctors Without Borders.
The European Commission has reacted to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa from its onset. It is active with humanitarian aid, expertise and international coordination.
